The goal of the Visual Literacy project is to create activities that integrate visual elements
into the traditional classroom curriculum. The Visual Literacy Project was created by Junius Wright, a Language Arts teacher at the Academic Magnet High School in Charleston, S.C. Junius encourages everyone to explore and use the content on this site to help nurture curiosity and feed the imagination.  Send questions, comments, and feedback to juniuswright@gmail.com.

FEATURED PROJECT

Project Fusion focused on the classroom installation of six original works of art created by Charleston artist, Fletcher Crossman. During their five week installation at the school, six of Crossman's works were integrated into the Creative Writing and European Literature curricula.  The paintings later joined other works by Crossman in the
exhibition, Great Big Paintings, at the Gaillard Auditorium.  Click here to read more about this project and others like it.
